To this day, it is known that consciousness and intelligence are products of the interconnection and interaction of the neurons in our brains. From this point of view, our mind is the creator of all reality where consciousness is local and intrinsic to the matter that constitutes us as human beings. However, there is evidence that suggests that this may not be entirely true and that consciousness would be of a non-local order, let's see.
There is a theory proposed by Nobel Prize winner in physics Roger Penrose, which explains that consciousness is the product of the quantum process that occurs within the microtubules of neurons. If this is true, consciousness would be non-local, meaning that it would not be located only in the brain, but somewhere outside of it. Our brains would then be a kind of device capable of tuning the frequency of our consciousness, which, being non-local and not dependent on the organism that houses it, would exist forever.
Many artists have confessed that some of their works have been inspired by something external, something inexplicable that leads them to produce something suddenly, but that does not obey a mature or long-developed thought. And not only that, in the scientific field many discoveries and theoretical developments have appeared almost instantly in different parts of the planet, although their developers had no contact with each other. Almost as if the same idea appeared at the same time, for the people involved in said discovery.
On the other hand, there is evidence that birth defects or serious accidents have caused the loss of a large part of brain mass, and yet, patients with this condition have not suffered any decrease in their mental abilities, and this is when science asks, in what part of the brain memory is located, for example.
Therefore, if thought is the product of a non-local process, human intelligence could no longer be measured in terms of IQ in the traditional way, and would now have to be defined in terms of our ability to access a series of "publicly accessible" knowledge outside our brains. Genius in terms of this new definition of intelligence or IQ, would be the ability of the mind to access certain frequencies of a delimited spectrum. This ability would depend, of course, on the training and frequency with which these neural networks capable of tuning into the desired spectrum are stimulated. However, there would be individuals who, by birth or naturally, would possess a prodigious network capable of accessing this knowledge, without the need for constant training.
